Description
Title: Shipping and Receiving Specialist Classification: Hourly; non-exempt Department: Logistics Reports to: Warehouse Manager Purpose The objective of the Shipping and Receiving Specialist is to ensure the accurate and timely receipt, warehousing and distribution of material, equipment and products. This position is also responsible for assisting in the organization, clean up and physical inventory counts of all warehouse locations and performing other duties as assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Use schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders and transfers to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed • Fill transfers, work orders or other requests for stock items and distributes them to stores, other employees or appropriate staging areas • Move materials and items from receiving areas to storage or other designated areas • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to a predetermined sequence or arrangement. • Verify packing lists and make corrections to item quantities when necessary • Load and unload spa trucks. • Assemble customer orders and place them on pallets or shelves, or prepare them for shipping • Drive company vehicles to transport items to or from warehouse and or stores or customer residences. • Ability to assemble products as needed or directed. • Clean and perform routine maintenance on fleet vehicles assigned to Logistics • Use computer to check on stock, transfers and/or orders and to send and receive e-mail • Perform physical inventory counts and cycle counts as assigned • Proactively resolve complaints or scheduling conflicts • Respond to questions or requests from the logistics team, internal or external customers and management promptly and courteously Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Familiar with Aqua Quip products and services • Good verbal and written communication skills; communicates clearly and effectively • Possess valid Washington State Driver’s License, maintain insurable driving status and pass chemical dependency screenings • Able to lift 75 pounds • Understands and complies with safety policies • Flexible, resourceful, organized and detail oriented • Good understanding of company software, including Apropos, Ascent and Outlook • Self-starter who is able to establish priorities, work independently and meet deadlines • Team oriented--able to work with a variety of people, including management, other team members and external and internal customers • Proactively seek opportunities for education and development, utilizing all available resources • Projects a professional image in accordance with company standards • Understands and lives company values Success Measurements • Work is performed on time and accurately • Paperwork and inventory accuracy • High degree of customer satisfaction • Organization and appearance of the warehouse and yard
