Description
Experience in geotechnical and environmental drilling including hollow stem auger drilling, mud-rotary drilling, standard penetration testing with automatic hammer, wire-line rock coring, piezometer and monitoring well installation. Experience with Central Mine Equipment Company (CME) drills, both ATV and truck mounted.
Responsibilities:
- Operate drill rigs safely
- Execute drilling tasks such as, soil drilling, conventional and wireline rock coring, sampling, testing and observing well installation safely and productively
- Maintain accurate logs and reports
- Ensure OSHA & all company safety procedures are followed
- Effectively communicate with field staff, engineers, and clients.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance, minor mechanical repairs and associated record keeping.
Qualifications:
- Two or more years of experience as a geotechnical/environmental drill rig operator. Specific experience in wire line rock coring, mud rotary drilling, and hollow stem auger drilling preferred.
- Must have knowledge of rock and soil description.
- Maintain an accurate reporting.
- A general knowledge of the maintenance of CME and or Mobil drilling rig.
- A valid commercial driver license with a clean driving record is required.
- Regional travel expected.
- Must have a valid OK Operator Certification.
- Must be able to lift 75 pounds without assistance.
