Description

BOTH OF THESE DOGS REMAIN UNIDENTIFIED CAN YOU HELP? RI Stations ABC6 and NBC10 recorded an interview with me about this attack: https://turnto10.com/news/local/pawtucket-familys-dog-violently-attacked-by-two-others-in-backyard-recovering JUST IN - Rex is going to PULL THROUGH! He is now home from our Vet with lots of medications, and vaccinations since we don't know the status of the attacking dogs, plus lots of instructions to help him mend. They had to shave his head as he had a lot of bites, cuts/lacerations to his head from the attack. However he's not at all himself and walking a bit strange, which we're told is from being tossed around and shook up by the two attacking dogs. The vet said he is BEYOND SUPER LUCKY to be alive given the circumstances. Our hero neighbor is basically why he's still with us if you ask me. -------------- Around 1:15pm today two large dogs attacked our family dog in our own backyard. We have notified the Pawtucket Police & Pawtucket Animal Control, and will look to notify our local government officials next if necessary. The health and status of our dog is unknown at this time. We rushed him to the nearest emergency vet since he was bleeding around his throat/neck area, as well as both of his ears. Both of these large dogs were loose and by themselves coming out of the path from Slater Park right near Slater Park Avenue. They forcefully pushed their way THROUGH our hedges AND inner-fence wiring to get into our backyard. Our dog was on a lead in the backyard and unable to get free from the attack. A neighbor (angel) ran when he heard my mother screaming and risked his own safety to somehow scare the dogs away. UPDATE - Hero Neighbor came back! We know who he is now. If you're reading this (or know him), whoever you are would you please contact me. Caucasian, 30’s/40’s, red hair, hooded sweatshirt, baseball glove. I believe his son was with him wearing a baseball glove as well, maybe around 10 years old, with a bright red Red Sox hat. They came running so fast from somewhere above Rowe Ave on Gates St. No one has come by looking for the loose dogs since. Photos are attached of the dogs involved in the attack, right before they pushed through and broke into our backyard. Did anyone else see these dogs today loose in or around Slater Park? Are you the owner of these dogs? Please reply or private message me if yes. Thank you for reading. I will update once I know more about the status of our dog.
