CLASSIFICATION • Non Exempt/Hourly – Part Time, up to 20 - Hours/Week • State and Federal Mandatory Benefit Programs. There are no Health/Life related Benefits. REPORTS TO • Accountable to our Board of Elders (i.e. Session) and will report to the NCPC Buildings and Grounds Team Leader, and Liaisons with the Church Administrator/Financial Secretary. JOB DUTIES, TASKS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Some tasks may need to be modified based on average of actual hours needed to accomplish tasks. Other tasks may be added based on needs of NCPC. • The employee shall schedule and perform all labor necessary to accomplish the Work Duties (plus other duties or tasks as assigned) described in the following paragraphs: • Responsible for having the buildings clean for regular services included but not limited to Sunday Worship Services and regular events or activities. • Maintain the Church Buildings and immediate surrounding grounds in clean conditions including: A. Cleaning/Sanitizing • Sanitize and clean facilities following recommendations of Insurance and public health agencies. • Wipe down kitchen (Fox Hall and Sanctuary) counters – at least weekly. • After Sunday Church Services, or on Monday at the latest, the Senior Facilities Technician will assist in Fox Hall clean-up tasks, such as table top cleaning and emptying of trash receptacles, etc • Vacuum all carpeted floors at least once a week. • Dust all blinds and furniture, including Sanctuary prior to Sunday Church Services. • Keep rest rooms clean (fixtures, sinks, toilets, urinals, mirrors) – at least once a week. • Keep rest rooms supplied (toilet paper, hand towels, toilet seat covers, facial tissue, and hand soap) – at least once a week. • Clean entry glass doors in Fox Hall and Sanctuary - as needed. • Clean windows inside and out – at least quarterly. Does not apply to Sanctuary. • Clean glass-top tables –as needed. • Empty all trash containers, including Fox Hall, Sanctuary, Choir Room, Classrooms, and Church Administrative offices – at least once a week, and after large church events. • Sweep and mop kitchen and restrooms – at least once a week. • Clean kitchen faucets and sinks (Fox Hall and Sanctuary) – as needed. • Wipe/disinfect door handles as a preventive health measure. Include door edges, doorframe trim (i.e. removal of hand, finger stains), and light switches – at least weekly. • Wipe down tables in Sunday school rooms – weekly. • Dust mop and wet mop Sanctuary front entry and side entry by Choir room – as needed. • Clean drinking fountain in Sanctuary – as needed. • Clean or shampoo the carpets – as needed between periodic professional cleanings. • Clean cobwebs from exterior lights and interiors on a regular basis. • Make order for cleaning supplies and bathroom paper supplies – at least monthly. B. Building & Equipment (i.e. Contents) Maintenance • Minor repairs taken care of on buildings (i.e. bathroom paper product dispensers) – as needed. • Coordinate door lock maintenance and repair with Buildings and Grounds Team Leader. • Maintain interior and exterior lighting. • Perform minor plumbing repairs (i.e., unclog toilets). • Pick up materials and parts for minor repairs – as needed. • Refinish weathered sanctuary doors – as needed. • Supplement professional pest control (i.e., ants, mice, etc.) on campus – as needed. • Store and dispose of fluorescent light tubes in a safe manner. • Lubricate cart or pan casters – Semi-Monthly • Reorganize table and chair storage areas – as needed. Organize and maintain organization of support closets and shed used by the Technician. i.e. (Shed by Sanctuary, Closet by Office, and Closets for supplies between Fox Hall restrooms). • Replace/repair casters or legs of chairs/tables – as identified. (Discard item if beyond repair) • Replace/adjust door stops – as needed • Other repairs and maintenance items not requiring a special technician, upon approval of an estimate of cost for labor and materials provided for such repairs are to be submitted to the Buildings and Grounds C. Grounds Maintenance • Replace outside water filters for Fox Hall upon regular visual inspection. Filters installed and in service after three (3) months, are to be replaced or sooner if needed. • Check water level in water tank weekly – (notify Buildings and Grounds Team Leader if low). • Mow lawn areas located on Campus ‘Island’ • Replace damaged sprinklers – as needed, or identified • Adjust irrigation frequency – as needed • Monitor plants served by timer and adjust water delivered as needed and manually utilize valves to maintain plants on other irrigation systems. • Sweep or blow-off breezeway, walkways including stairways and parking lot(s) curb ways leading to buildings – Weekly. Remove accumulating trash/leaves, or other debris as a safety measure. • Repaint safety colorations on curbing and other hard surfaces as needed. D. Set up • Fox Hall: Arrange and set-up tables and chairs to match planned activities including meetings, luncheons, and special events – Weekly • Verify classroom, sanctuary, and other spaces have proper configuration of furniture. Modify or correct as needed. • Store excess chairs and tables in appropriate storage unit outside Fox Hall. o Tables - Wipe down, fold, and store – Weekly o Chairs - Wipe down, stack on wheeled pans, and store – Weekly • Assist in moving of boxes, furniture, and other items as needed. • Assist with decorating Sanctuary and Fox Hall for Christmas and Liturgical Seasons, and other special events – Approximately Quarterly Practice safe working principles and does not hesitate to request assistance when needed. Note: Some tasks may need to be modified based on average of actual hours needed to accomplish tasks. Other tasks may be added based on needs of NCPC. QUALIFICATIONS • Fluent in oral and written English, and understanding vendor equipment/parts operating manuals/instructions. Able to use/stand on a 6-7 foot ladder. • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception and ability to adjust focus. 1.
