Primary Essential Job Functions Maintain, inspect, and diagnose issues with a wide range of construction equipment. Provide repair and maintenance to diesel and gasoline engines. Diagnose, adjust, and repair ignition, fuel, electrical, hydraulic, and steering systems. Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment with hoisting and jacking equipment, power tools, measuring instruments, gauges, and meters. Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance on equipment and vehicles. Maintain and repair tires, batteries, brakes, and valves. Perform DOT Vehicle Safety Inspections and document per DOT requirements. Must be able to work scheduled hours as assigned by your supervisor. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor. Qualifications Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs and functions. High School diploma/GED preferred Valid, clean driving record. Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines efficiently and cost effectively Keen attention to detail and a high level of initiative. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Demonstrated strong decision making and problem-solving skills Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and perform in a fast-paced, stressful work environment. Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required Ability to communicate clearly with job site supervisors and fellow employees. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, grasp, climb, balance, twist, pull, push, have hand/finger dexterity and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders. Frequent walking on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in various weather conditions. Vision abilities (with or without correction) include close, distance, peripheral, depth, and the ability to adjust focus. Sensory ability to talk, hear, smell, touch and feel. Able to work in all weather conditions including, but not limited to, heat, cold, rain, wind, snow, etc. Must be able to exert up to 10-20 lbs. constantly to move objects; 25-50 lbs. of force frequently; 50-100 lbs. of force occasionally. Maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities of the construction site, including activities of other employees and contractors, the operation of stationary equipment, and the movement of mobile equipment.
