Come work for a great company!  Blankstein Enterprises, Inc., a property management company, is hiring for a part-time cleaner at our Sheboygan complex.  Our large apartment complex is currently seeking a quality driven, detail oriented person to join our team! BASIC FUNCTION:  The Painter's main responsibility is to prepare and paint surfaces including walls, ceilings, woodwork and cabinets in individual apartments and public areas within the company's buildings. RESPONSIBILITIES:  The Painter's essential duties are: MATERIAL HANDLING:  Determine needs for jobs, complete material list, and pickup in an efficient manner.  Return unused materials to Warehouse Clerk for credit when job completed. SURFACE PREPARATION:  Mask/cover surfaces not being painted Removed switch plates and light diffusers Patch plaster and drywall, putty nail holes Caulk joints and corners Seal stains, degrease surfaces Prime and texture patches Rough up gloss Scrape and sand loose and peeling paint Remove wallpaper, wash, sand, and prime surface for new paper PAINT: Roll/brush latex or alkyd paint/enamel paint walls, ceilings, woodwork, and cabinets. STAIN: Stain base, casings, doors, and cabinets. CLEAN-UP: Remove debris items including dust, paint, paint chips, material scraps and protective coverings. Dust, vacuum, and clean bathrooms (if used) of occupied and rent-ready apartments. Replace electrical plates and light fixtures. ABILITIES:  The Painter must be able to: Distinguish different types of paint (latex vs. oil based) and stains. Have the knowledge to safely operate equipment associated with essential duties. Read and write. Thoroughly complete paperwork as required by the company. Communicate verbally with tenants and co-workers in a professional            manner. REQUIREMENTS:  The Painter is required to: Have a high school diploma or GED. Have own insured reliable transportation (car, van, truck) with adequate room to transport tools and supplies. Have a favorable driving record. Proof of auto insurance. Have own equipment including but not limited to rollers, sanders, ladders, knives (for patching). Work full time, weekdays, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, and be available for occasional overtime work as needed. Lift, carry and climb with materials up to 25 pounds. Push and pull up to 100 pounds occasionally (for the moving of appliances). Must be able to reach all wall and ceiling surfaces with or without the aid of a ladder or other approved extensions for extended amounts of time. WORK CONDITIONS: This employee will work in a variety of areas. The employee may frequently work in an environment with fumes, odors and dust and occasionally with mists and smoke.  Occupied apartments may also have a variety of personal items which the employee must be cautious of.   May also experience unclean apartments.  This employee may occasionally experience high levels of noise and/or vibrations. This employee will experience hazards and must work, react to, or use properly the following:  power equipment, electrical lines behind walls, propane torch or heat guns, materials that cause skin irritants or may be considered carcinogenic such as thinner, adhesives and cleaners. Safety procedures in place at Blankstein Enterprises include goggles, back supports and respirator usage.  Employees are urged to report unsafe working conditions to their Supervisor.  Blankstein Enterprises is a drug-free and alcohol-free work environment. Must be able to pass a drug screen.
