Description
FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham public works crews were responding to a "substantial" water main break in the downtown area Tuesday, and the break will likely cause traffic disruptions through the afternoon.
The break was reported near 2:15 along Fountain Street near the Waverly Street intersection, which is just west of the MBTA commuter rail station downtown.
According to public works, traffic along Waverly Street would be detoured around the break. Fountain Street traffic headed toward Waverly will not be detoured, but drivers will have to proceed through the construction area.
Fifteen properties in the area were without water service due to the break, a public works spokesperson said in a new release.
