Description

FRAMINGHAM, MA — MassDOT will give the MetroWest Regional Transit Authority (MWRTA) a $400,000 grant to expand the transit agency's on-demand ride service to Natick and Framingham. The grant will allow MWRTA to expand Catch Connect to the Golden Triangle shopping area and the offices and apartment buildings nearby, and offer service on Sundays. Right now, the service is only available in Wellesley, at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, at the Woodland Green Line station, the Waban Green Line station and the Natick Community Center. The MWRTA grant was part of $3.5 million in regional transit authority grants announced Tuesday. Local riders can download the Catch Connect app to use the service. Riders input their location and destination, and MWRTA sends a vehicle, similar to a rideshare car. The service operates from 6:45 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. on weekdays.
