Step 1: Contact your landlord or property management company and let them know you are seeking help due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They may be willing to work on a payment plan or defer payments for you.
Step 2: Check whether your household is eligible for assistance (see below and read the FAQ page)
Step 3: If you're eligible, text pinellasrent to 888777 to receive a reminder when applications open.
Step 4: Gather your documents for the application (details on the FAQ page here).
You may qualify if:
You've lost your job or significant income due to the COVID-19 pandemic, You're behind on rent payments or at risk of missing a rent payment, and You have a household income at or below 80% of the area median income (AMI). Applications open March 31 for Pinellas County's Emergency Rental Assistance Program.
