BELTSVILLE, MD —Fire officials said an SUV overturned on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway early Monday morning. The accident killed two people and hospitalized another pair, the Prince George's County Fire/EMS Department added.
Investigators have not yet identified the two victims who they declared dead on the scene, but they noted that the hospitalized patients are both adult females.
One of the hospitalized women suffered serious, life-threatening injuries, a write-up informed. The release indicated that the other woman has serious wounds, but medics expect her to survive.
An incident report explained that the crash happened in Beltsville around 1 a.m. on the northbound side of Maryland Route 295 before the Beaver Dam Road exit. First responders reported that they "found multiple patients trapped."
The United States Park Police is handling the investigation. The agency has not yet announced what caused the accident.
