DANBURY, CT — Police have charged two Danbury men with multiple drug offenses, following a weeks-long investigation.
The Danbury Police Department began its investigation of Christopher Carolina, 51, of Rowan Street, after receiving multiple citizen complaints that he was selling illicit drugs in Danbury at the Quality Inn on Federal Road, according to Det. Lt. Mark Williams.
On Wednesday afternoon, police began surveillance of Carolina and followed him to a Triangle Street condominium complex. Police witnessed Carolina entering a car driven by Sage Lundgren, 28, of Cobble Stone Terrace, as it was parked in the complex parking lot.
"At that point, investigators rushed the car in the interest of executing the search and seizure warrants for the person of Carolina and his phone. As the investigators approached the car, they realized Carolina was in the middle of an illegal drug transaction with Lundgren," Williams said.
After taking Carolina and Lundgren into custody, police searched the Quality Inn hotel room which had been rented by Carolina and a woman.
As a result of all searches, police seized several grams of crack cocaine, a quantity of heroin, drug paraphernalia and U.S. currency, according to their report.
Carolina was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, criminal attempt to sell a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held on a $100,000 bond.
Lundgren was charged with attempt to possess a controlled substance, and held on a $1,000 bond.
