Permit Specialist Hastings, MN Description Local Candidates Only for Permitting of Fiber / Coax Telecommunications Construction The permit specialist is responsible for the obtainment of city, county or municipalities permits. This position is responsible for issuing and coordinating permits to the desired construction phase(s) and requirements. To, determine whether permits should be obtained, the permit specialist will perform a variety of tasks to include researching, analyzing, interpreting, and applying residential and commercial construction laws, ordinances, regulations, and mandates. The position will work with owners, officials, contractors, designers, etc. to explain and coordinate the appropriate documentation necessary for permitting. Requirements Obtain necessary permits for construction completion while coordinating with external and internal resources. Develop and maintain accurate and complete files for construction permits; continue to monitor for integrity and completeness until construction process is complete. Create and distribute correspondence relevant to the project management team. Update necessary spreadsheets/tracking systems. Assist with administrative tasks. Provide reports as requested. All other duties as assigned. Required Education and Preferred Experience Associate’s degree in building construction, engineering, architecture, or similar and four years of technician level experience in an architectural, construction, engineering, or related technical field.
