Description

NOVATO, CA — Novato High School is commemorating the school's JROTC program's 55 years at the school. The Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps was established at the school in 1966 and is open to all Marin County high school students. The JROTC program's stated goal is to develop young leaders and citizens of character dedicated to serving their community. Participating students develop a sense of personal responsibility, integrity, and self-discipline, and they benefit from academic instruction in air and space technology, JROTC says. "We're really proud to have the JROTC program at Novato High School. It's a great leadership program for high school students and those who are also interested in aviation," Novato Unified School District Superintendent Kris Cosca said in a statement. Novato hosts the county's only such program. Anyone interested in signing up for the program should contact Richard Muench at [email protected]. For more information about the program visit here.
