CHULA VISTA, CA — Chula Vista police on Monday arrested and charged two people suspected in the deadly March 11 shooting of a 17-year-old boy in Sunset View Park. Larry Bradford, 18, was arrested and charged with accessory to murder after authorities located him and a 16-year-old suspect at a home in Spring Valley, police said in a news release. The younger suspect was charged with homicide and booked into juvenile hall. Police Tuesday continued their search for another suspect, 22-year-old Deonte Martinez. Martinez, who remained at large as of writing, is believed to be armed and dangerous, police said. Anyone with information about his location, or about the shooting, is asked to call San Diego County Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477 or Chula Vista police at 619-691-5151. The shooting happened just after 7:20 p.m. on March 11, police said in an earlier news release. The violence may have stemmed from an illegal transaction, during which an argument broke out and one person brandished a gun, shooting the victim. When officers arrived, the victim was found on the ground with gunshot wounds. He was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. Investigators were working Tuesday to determine what led up to the argument and subsequent shooting. No further information was immediately available.
