By: Aiesha Allen, BDTV228 Sports Multimedia Intern The Bremen High School Football season kicked off on Friday, March 19th vs. Thronton Fractional South High School. Unfortunately, the Braves lost with a final score of 20-14. Regardless, the team is looking forward to a promising season after the delay due to COVID-19. They say they're excited to "have a fun time on the field" and "play defense and win games." Last year, the Braves made it to the playoffs, which Varisty Coach Dan Stell says has boosted team morale. "As you can see, our guys have a lot of confidence out here and are having a lot of fun, and that's carried on from last year." Coach Stell also remarked on the growth of the offensive and defensive lines saying, "Watching these guys when they came in as Freshmen... a lot of them were a little undersized or maybe weren't in the best shape, but over the last three years they have grown and now have a tremendous amount of size, mobility, and are extremely intelligent football players." Win or lose, when it comes down to it Coach Stell says, "I'll tell you what, the fact that we're even able to have a season right now - our goal is to enjoy every single day. Our job, as coaches, is to make sure our athletes are enjoying their time out here, making the most out of every day we have with one another, and taking it one game at a time." The Braves will face off against Evergreen Park High School at 7:00 pm on Friday, March 26th. View their full schedule and learn more at https://il.8to18.com/BremenHS/...
