Description

PITTSBURGH, PA — As part of the Department of Veterans Affairs national effort to vaccinate every eligible veteran who wants to be inoculated, VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System has eliminated the age criterion to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. Veterans must be enrolled and eligible to receive Veterans Affair health care in order to receive the vaccine at this time. The COVID-19 vaccine will be offered to eligible veterans at no cost by appointment at the two medical campuses in Pittsburgh and five outpatient clinics, or to walk-ins at the University Drive campus from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, except federal holidays. For most of these appointments and walk-in inoculations, the health system provides the Pfizer vaccine, which requires two doses given approximately 21 days apart at the same location.
