GENEVA, IL — A 23-year-old Batavia man was critically injured Sunday night when he was hit by a car while skateboarding on Route 25 in Geneva, according to police. The man was riding his skateboard south on Route 25 just before 8:15 p.m. Sunday when he was struck by a Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by a 73-year-old Batavia man, police said in a news release. He was treated for life-threatening injuries at Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital in Geneva, where he remained Monday, police said. The driver of the SUV was not injured in the crash and is "fully cooperating" with the Geneva Police Department's investigation, the release states.
