The City of Hopkins would like to take a moment to stand in solidarity with our Asian community members and to condemn violence against Asian, Asian American and Pacific Islander community members. The recent horrific shootings in Atlanta exemplify a repulsive increase in anti-Asian violence and harassment. In Hopkins, we believe in creating a spirit of community where all people feel safe, respected, and where diversity is celebrated. The recent trend of anti-Asian sentiment is completely against our vision and creates an environment where our Asian community members are living in fear. Xenophobia, racism, and hate have no place in Hopkins. If you see racism, say something. Now is the time for strong allyship and love, the foundation of building a community of belonging.
