One Woman Dead After SWAT Standoff Tuesday; Suspect in Custody

One woman is dead and a suspect is in custody after a SWAT standoff in the Princeton Park neighborhood of Chicago on Tuesday afternoon, according to police. Officers responded to a call at 12:22 p.m. of an armed man holding a woman in a building on the 200 block of West 92nd Street. The male offender, 30, was arrested at 1:00 p.m. and one firearm was recovered from the scene, Chicago police said in a statement. The victim, a 40-year-old woman, was found with multiple gunshot wounds to her torso and face and was pronounced dead on the scene, Cook County Medical Examiner's office has yet to release the woman's name or manner of death. Police have not confirmed what the offender will be charged with.
