CLEVELAND — Two people were killed and two people are in custody after a shooting at My Friends Restaurant in Cleveland.
At 4 a.m. on Monday, 911 callers reported a shooting at My Friends. Detectives believe an argument broke out and at least two people pulled out guns and began firing. Multiple shell casings were found inside the restaurant and two guns were seized during the investigation.
When officers arrived at the restaurant, they found Geongela Rivers, 21, of Euclid, on the ground. She had been shot multiple times, Cleveland police said. Officers gave her first aid until EMS arrived and took her to MetroHealth Medical Center.
Doctors later pronounced Rivers dead, police said.
Police also found Keondre Austin, 27, of Cleveland inside the restaurant with a gunshot wound to his neck. Officers gave him first aid, but Austin was later declared dead at MetroHealth, police said.
A third wounded person was found in the My Friends kitchen. He had been shot in the leg. Police gave him first aid until EMS took him to MetroHealth. He has since been released from the hospital, but was then taken to Cuyahoga County Jail where he has been booked, Cleveland police said.
A fourth wounded person, a 29-year-old man, was found at MetroHealth Medical Center. He had been driven to the hospital in someone's car. He has been arrested, but is confined at the hospital with a broken tibia, police said.
