Description

Press release from Grand Rapids Public Library: Mar 23, 2021 What if I no longer have my library card and don't know my card number? You can contact the library and we can send the library card number to the email address in your account. You can also visit the library and request a replacement library card. If I call the library can you tell me my library card number over the phone? Unfortunately, GRPL is unable to give out library card numbers over the phone. You are able to view your library card number in your online account. If you have lost your card, register for a new one by filling out this online form or by stopping into any of our locations with photo ID and proof of address. What if I can't make it to the library to pick-up my items within the six day  window? The hold on your items expires and the items are removed from the locker. Expired holds are cleared on a daily basis and are final.   Can you extend my pick-up window if I call? Unfortunately because space in the lockers is limited, we cannot extend pick-up dates.  What if I enter my card number but the message on the screen says the checkout was unsuccessful? If the library is closed, please email [email protected] or call 616-988-5400, option 2 and we will contact you as soon as possible. If the library is open please come to the Ottawa Hills Customer Service  Desk for help.  Can I use my KDL Card to access the Hold Locker? Yes. If you are a KDL cardholder who has not used GRPL before, please  stop into a branch and have your card information added to our system before placing holds. I only want some of the items in the locker. Can I pick which items to check out? No. All items held in your locker will be checked out to you. If you no longer need an item, please return it to a GRPL drop box. I cannot reach very high or low places. How can I access my items? We are more than happy to help. Please see a staff member or please email [email protected] or call 616-988-5400, option 2  when you place your hold requests to alert staff to your needs and we will make the necessary accommodations.
