CMPD Leads Probe Into Fatal US Marshal Shooting At Gas Station

CHARLOTTE, NC —Charlotte police, along with the U.S. Marshals Service are investigating a fatal officer-involved shooting at an east Charlotte gas station midday Tuesday. According to a Charlotte Observer report, a U.S. Marshall shot and killed a man during an attempt to serve an arrest warrant at a gas station located near the intersection of The Plaza and Parkwood Avenue. "CMPD is leading the investigation concerning the U.S. Marshals Service shooting incident that developed on Parkwood Ave. and the Plaza earlier today," CMPD Chief Johnny Jennings said. Police urged motorists to avoid the area of Parkwood Avenue and The Plaza, and instead use Central Avenue as an alternate route.
