Join us for an hour long yoga class honoring Dakota Korson. Proceeds will go directly to her family. A message from Dakota's family: Dakota Korson is a spirited, affectionate, and compassionate little 2 year old. She enjoys caring for her backyard chickens and her kitty (Miles). She is a master on her scooter and recently learned to pedal her “big girl” bike that was passed down from her older sister and best buddy, Decklyn (4 years old). This past November (2020) Dakota was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma. Neuroblastoma is a rare form of cancer that typically begins on the adrenal glands. Dakota is considered high risk, which makes her eligible to participate in clinical trials. The clinical trials are aggressive; consisting of five rounds of chemotherapy, MIBG therapy, tumor removal surgery, tandem bone marrow transplants, radiation, immunotherapy. Dakota is receiving this care at Mott’s Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor. Currently she is recovering from MIBG treatment and will start a fourth round of chemo at the end of March, which will finish just in time to celebrate her sister Decklyn’s 5th birthday, just prior to her surgery. Dakota has been a “Little Warrior” through her treatments. Dakota is brave beyond measure and she inspires us, and everyone around her, by her continued resilience and vibrant spirit. Through this journey we have found many things to be hopeful and grateful for. Our faith has grown stronger and our village has been a blessing. We are choosing to share Dakota’s story in an attempt to bring awareness not only to neuroblastoma, but all forms of children’s cancer.
