Description
The Automation Technician will assist with the integration and implementation of the Company’s automated control systems. This position will be responsible for the safe installation, operational troubleshooting, and development of automation systems. This includes ensuring: adherence to standard operating procedures, consistent maintenance procedures, enforcement of policies, and the safeguarding of proprietary information and functions related to automated control system operations of the Company.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
Graduated from a standard high school or GED or have equivalent experience
Minimum of one year of experience with instrumentation and automated control systems
Advanced computer skills; Strong understanding of networking essentials and Microsoft operating systems
Understanding of the operation of various electrical and mechanical systems
Minimum of one-year water transfer experience
Thorough project technical review and understanding (scope, approach, design)
Strong analytical and decision-making skills
Understanding of operations of SCADA/HMI systems
Willing to travel and stay overnight at remote job locations
Valid Driver’s License
Ability to work effectively with other employees in a team environment
Good communication skills with individuals at all levels
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
One-year experience operating SCADA hardware and software
Three years of experience operating water transfer systems
Strong knowledge of current computer technology and TCP/IP configurations
Knowledge of industrial automation software packages like GE iFIX
Knowledgeable with SCADA and PLC software
Knowledgeable in electronics circuitry and troubleshooting
Knowledge in Radio Frequencies (RF), and commercial networking configurations
