Here to help measure UVB & consult on reptile lighting

Description
All reptiles including snakes require UVB. If you do not have a Solarmeter 6.5 R ($200-250) it’s almost impossible to accurately access if your reptile in the correct UVB index. Even if you throw out your bulbs every six months there is no guarantee your reptiles are getting the correct amount, as you still need to calculate distance from bulb and charts do not cut it. I encourage anyone reading this to purchase their own(not from me), it’s worth the investment and piece of mind. If you do not want to buy your own, I can come to your place of residence and measure the UVB output on your lights for a small fee of $30. (I have been vaccinated once 4 COVID and will wear a mask) All I would ask is that you know which Ferguson Zone your reptile or any animal for that matter is in before I come to your place of residence. Beyond UVB, I also consult on how to best heat and light reptiles to achieve full-spectrum lighting/heating. It’s actually much simpler and easier than you may think(see my notecard in pics). This up to date knowledge will help you create setups where plants will thrive as well as your reptiles because they will have access to Ir-a [a type of deep heat found in the low end on the light spectrum(non-visible), not found in heating pads or ceramic bulbs]. I can help with setting up bioactive enclosures (I sell powder-orange isopods here on CL) And I also strongly encourage anyone reading this to join Reptile Lighting, it’s a group on Facebook with literally some of the brightest minds on the subject who are the same people consulted by Zoo-med and others for their expertise and UVB charts. In the end, I hope everyone who keeps reptiles will get their own Solarmeter 6.5R. It is the ONLY meter you need to measure UV index and output, so it will literally pay for itself by helping you to extend the life of your expensive UVB bulbs. I have 2 T5 HO 32” tubes that are still putting out enough output over a year.
