PeopleReady Skilled Trades is looking for utility pipe layers of various skill levels for upcoming commercial projects throughout the DC Metro area (DC, VA, MD). Pay rate dependent on experience and project. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity. Job Responsibilities: · Assist with alignment of water/sewer pipes during pipeline construction · Use hand tools and power machinery (such as tamping) to grade and level trenches · Connect large diameter pipes and joints for pressurized utility lines · Dig trenches near or for utilities (water/sewer) · Use a variety of tools to check for slopes and grading (lasers, grade rods, levels) · Perform other laboring jobs on site as it relates Job Qualifications: · Previous experience with pipe laying (not pipe fitting) required, large diameter metal and concrete · Confined space certification preferred but not required – certification course can be provided · Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends and/or extended shift hours · Ability to pass a drug screen (this position specifically) · Possess tools of the trade · Possess reliable transportation to get to and from various job sites located primarily around the beltway · Ability to lift or move 50 pounds or more throughout shift and maneuver in various ways to accomplish tasks
