American Van & Storage Co. is a family owned, multi state delivery company in Newark, DE. We are seeking CDL A & B, Move Specialist Team Leader to join our team in Newark, DE!~ As a Team Leader the primary ongoing responsibility is to assist in the delivery of products into a customer's business or residence. Team Leaders focus on safety, cultivating moving skill, communication with team members, and working with management to improve the sector business. Role and Responsibilities: ·Responsible for proper loading and securing of goods for transit. ·Responsible for transport of household goods or commercial equipment and furniture from origin to destination. ·Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition. ·Responsible for maintaining clean, safe, operating condition of assigned vehicles and equipment. ·Maintains driver log according to FMCSA regulations. ·Manages workers in loading and unloading goods, material, and equipment. ·Adheres to all safety, OSHA, and DOT regulations in accordance with the Company’s Safety Program and initiatives. ·Adherence to drug-free workplace initiatives. ·Manages on-site crews to ensure efficient and effective service and delivery to clients and homeowners. ·Actively participates in moving materials, equipment, furniture, household goods, and managing packing and crating of valuables and hard-to-move items. ·Maintains tool kit for the installation, assembly and breakdown of furniture, cubicles, or other items for transport. ·Acts as liaison with customer service reps, dispatch, and warehouse staff to meet Company’s obligations to the client. ·Responsible for accurate and complete transactions on all paperwork; securing signatures, collection of payment, and reconciliation of discrepancies. ·Submit paperwork to Dispatchers to validate crew man-hours and report any incidents. ·This job requires a person with above average mental stamina and physical skill. Qualifications and Education Requirements: ·High School Diploma or GED equivalent. ·Active CDL License w/ decent driving record. ·Prior moving & storage or furniture delivery experience a plus ·Experience as a crew leader or supervisor ·Must pass a DOT physical ·4 years of driving experience (2 years truck driving) ·2 years' supervisory experience in related field ·Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume ·Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry ·Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form ·Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals ·Ability to write routine reports and correspondence ·Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients or employees of organization ·Ability to handle several ongoing projects or tasks concurrently ·Available to support staff extended hours as needed ·Demonstrated experience matching skill levels to complexity of workloads ·Excellent time management skills ·Team player and motivator ·Strong communication skills ·Proficient with basic software programs ·Ability to independently lift up to 70 lbs ·Ability to team lift up to 200 lbs ·Ability to squat, kneel, crawl, twist, pivot, press (above your head) and climb stairs; often and for extended periods of time. ·Work through all weather conditions.
