Description

Vermont Wetland Plant Supply is looking for seasonal full-time employees effective April 5 through approximately October 1, 2021 at the nursery in Orwell, Vermont. The Greenhouse Assistant/ Native Plant Grower is responsible for propagation activities (seeding, dividing, and transplanting) approximately 80 species of native wetland plants species, general greenhouse operations (nutrient management, watering, grounds maintenance), and field harvesting activities (seed collection, cuttings, harvesting sub-aquatic plants) in locations throughout Vermont. Employees are expected to work in all safe weather conditions and should tolerate getting muddy on a regular basis (and extremely muddy from time to time). Employees must be able to swim, as field staff are frequently in kayaks on ponds and lakes. Botanical and horticultural experience not required, but an aptitude for learning plant identification is beneficial.
