To meet our growing delivery demands, we’re currently hiring for an EXPERIENCED DISPATCH/ROUTER. Job responsibilities include: the ability to develop efficient delivery routes, assign routes to individual trucks, support delivery teams, and oversee the completion of deliveries to customers’ satisfaction. Additional duties and requirements listed below. Schedule will vary, including days, nights and Saturdays to accommodate customer needs. Position starts at $19/hr plus benefits with an initial 90-day review. BENEFITS INCLUDE: • Employee Discount Program on purchases • Health and Dental Insurance • Paid Time Off/Paid Holidays • Stable company atmosphere (over 70 years in business!) • PLUS FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES FOR ADVANCEMENT ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Develop efficient delivery routes, assign routes, and input data into computer. • Assist customers and drivers in a friendly and positive manner to resolve difficult situations. • Print transfer requests; assign them to transfer trucks; key data into computer. • Approve and monitor same day deliveries. • Supervise and support delivery crews. • Review advanced delivery requests, approve or deny based on availability. • Assist in other areas as needed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Ability to analyze data from several sources and create a working delivery plan. • Excellent prior work experience in a friendly, fast-paced customer service environment. • Excellent telephone etiquette. • Fluency in English (written & verbal). • Basic computer skills and experience. • Ability to work a flexible schedule, i.e. Saturdays or Sundays, overtime as needed. • Ability to maintain a positive attitude in a team environment. • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations. • Ability to read Portland metro maps to assign delivery driver routes. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Ability to read and interpret Google Maps. • Familiarity with geography of Portland Metro area. • Knowledge of DispatchTrack and Storis software. • Fluency in Spanish, Eastern European or Asian languages. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • Position involves a mix of sitting and standing with the potential to lift up to 50 pounds.
