About the Position: We are currently recruiting for an experienced Tractor Operator to join our Farm team. If you have experience operating tractors and looking for year-round employment, we want to talk to you! This position is located in the heart of the Columbia Gorge in Trout Lake, Washington. Trout Lake Farm is committed to flexible work schedules; however, during the farm season additional hours will be required (average of 50-60 hours up to 80 hours weekly). Position Responsibilities: The Tractor Operator is responsible for operating a variety of farm vehicles and associated implements; along with performing skilled tasks involving cultivation, ground preparation for seedbed and transplant operations, fertilization, pest control and harvesting operations. Specific Responsibilities: •Perform pre-operational check-list and necessary maintenance on all farm equipment and vehicles •Performs mechanical adjustments on different tractors and implements to obtain desired performance •Operate tractor-trailer, loader, tractor, trucks and associated equipment •Perform primary tillage operations •Cultivate pre-planted fields with precision cultivation equipment •Fertilize both planted and prepared fields •Haul trailer bins to and from harvested fields •Plan or transplant crops using appropriate equipment •Perform manual field operations as needed •Actively participate in safety program and safety related repairs or upkeep Physical Requirements: •Must be able to sit for long periods of time; some days 8-12 hours •Must be able to frequently reach •Must be able to occasionally lift 60 lbs •Must be able to occasionally climb ladders •Must be able to frequently twist •Must be able to frequently grasp •Must be able to frequently stand •Must be able to work in extreme heat and cold weather conditions Qualifications: •Valid Driver’s License required •Experience operating tractors required; digger, swather, combine & chopper experience highly preferred •Other farming equipment experience preferred •Bi-Lingual English/Spanish preferred •Ability to safely operate, maintain and perform minor adjustments on equipment •Ability to use precision equipment •Ability to understand and carry out oral instructions •Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees •Knowledge of farm equipment operation and maintenance Benefits package: •Profit share/Incentive Program •Competitive Health Package (medical/dental/vision/Rx/life/ADD/Short Term Disability) •Generous time-off package (vacation/sick/paid holidays) •401(k) with employer match and Retirement Contributions •Cell phone stipend •Fun, casual, family-friendly workplace •Beautiful rural setting with great recreation opportunities right out the door Trout Lake Farm is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
