At Synthetic Genomics, Inc., we are dedicated to developing and commercializing genomic-driven solutions to address global challenges. We are currently seeking a Temporary Production Associate to join our fast-growing, dynamic and collaborative team in Calipatria, Ca. Under the direction of the Production Supervisor the Temporary Production Associate will be responsible for the execution of the day to day production and R&D activities at the CAAF. Duties & Responsibilities: -Will be responsible for the execution of provided test plans and will be expected to provide feedback on how to streamline and optimize the process and plans. -Will be responsible for the set-up and take down of experiments and production runs of various algal production systems. -Assures team activities, equipment and facilities are operated and maintained in a manner consistent with plant production goals and objectives, as established by the Head of Phototrophic Production, Production R&D Manager and Production Supervisor. -May perform other or specified duties as directed by the Production R&D Manager or other appropriate supervisory personnel. -Make specific adjustments to the production or R&D units as directed by the Production and R&D Manager. -May perform labor tasks or general cleaning tasks as directed by the manger/supervisor. -Assist the Production R&D Manager and Lead Production Associate in establishing and monitoring overall plant performance and provide feedback when needed for determining potential improvements. -Communicate with the Production R&D Manager and Lead Production Associate concerning the implementation and frequency of preventative maintenance plans to ensure the site’s consistent operational capability. -May be required to drive a forklift or equipment needed to achieve necessary project goals and deliverables. -Ensures that work areas are always clean and maintained so that security and safety are maintained. -Maintains existing plant facilities, production equipment and research tools, and/or make recommendations and adjustments to plant facilities and equipment to the site and program management. -Ensure the proper deployment and calibration of the main sensors and remote data collection systems. This includes the proper implementation of calibration schedules and engaging with outside vendors to ensure proper and accurate data collection. Required Experience: -High School Diploma or Associates Degree -Experience working in a lab and/or production environment a plus. -Meticulous attention to detail. -Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. -Ability to read, write and follow written and verbal instruction. -Computer usage including Email, Microsoft Word and Excel. -Team-player who works well in a team-orientated environment. -Ability to work a schedule which may include weekends and overtime. -Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus Please apply at: www.syntheticgenomics.com/career/ Job posting: Temporary Production Associate
