YardWorks Landscaping & Design in Mt. Pleasant, SC has a FULL-TIME or PART-TIME job opening for an Experienced Tree Climber/Arborist. Compensation is based on experience.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for climbing, pruning and removing trees on residential properties.
• Properly prepare, maintain and safely operate all tools and equipment including hand tools, chainsaws,
chippers, and climbing gear.
Qualifications:
• Climbing experience utilizing rope and saddle when pruning, knowledge of knots, chainsaw operation and
chipper operation.
• Experience with Aerial Lifts desired
• Driver’s License required.
• Experience with landscape crew management, customer service, and safety procedures are highly valuable.
• Maintaining climbing gear and tree care equipment to be sure that all equipment and tools are safe and in
working order for high quality and safe service.
• Previous climbing experience
• Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
Requirements:
• Trims and/or removes trees by climbing with the aid of a ladder, safety belt, climbing line, powered trimmer
lift truck, or works from the ground.
• Performs other related work, as assigned by superiors.
• Safeguards employees and public from hazards in and around work area. customer, police, sets up barriers,
warning signs, flags, markers, etc. to protect employees and public.
• Works around hazardous equipment
• Works in close proximity to energized power lines.
• Works in all temperatures and weather and will be exposed to nature i.e., irritating plants and biting or
stinging insects, and dust.
• Works around excessive noise from machines, chain saw, woodchipper and other equipment, with hearing
protection.
• Work will be performed at varying heights above ground.
• Works on unlevel terrain.
• Works will be performed at varying heights while secured.
• Works around falling limbs.
• Exposure to traffic hazards.
