Volunteers needed for UB Research Study in Adults aged 60-74 years old

You May Qualify If You: • Are between 60 and 74 years old and older, see the specific age range for males and females at the last point. • Can walk with/without assistive devices • Can follow simple exercise instructions • Are a non-smoker or have not smoked in the past year • Do not have current diabetes, heart, pulmonary or vascular diseases, foot deformities, amputation, untreated glaucoma, and Parkinson’s disease • For females, we only need one more participant aged between 69 and 74 years old who do less than 60 minutes of weekly physical activity (not active). For males, we need active participants (aged 60-62) and non-active participants (aged 60-66 or 70-74 years old). Participation Involves: • One-time assessment at UB South Campus (Kimball Tower, 119 Goodyear Road) including answering questions and measurements using lightweight devices that do not cause pain on your forehead and lower leg. You will finish two quick short-term memory tests, and four non-vigorous walking and balance tests with the devices. The assessments will be done within 2.5 hours.
