Still-forming punk rock power-trio seeks drummer

Meets

Morrisville PA

Description

We are two gentlemen approaching our dirty thirties, and we're currently in the market for a drummer to join our good ol’-fashioned 80s or 90s style punk rock power-trio featuring two lead vocalists -- kind of in the same vein as bands like Jawbreaker, Blink-182, Alkaline Trio, or Hüsker Dü (with a little Descendents and other various influences thrown in). That means we're not necessarily looking for a flashy and progressive Neil Peart style drummer with a 25-piece kit, but rather a drummer who can "sit in" a song with their own feel and provide the appropriate amount of power, skill, and craft (while also being able to throw in some gnarly fills every now and then). Y'know, someone along the lines of Dave Grohl, Tré Cool, John Bonham, Bill Stevenson, someone with a combination of punk, classic rock, and alternative sensibilities. Now you might read that description and think, “Mehh, not for me,” and hey, it’s all good! We totally understand if it’s not your style! … Orrrrrr maybe we’re just not making ourselves clear enough, so if you’re at the very least intrigued with that band description, we can send you two to three demos that we have mostly done -- one of which is called “Shift(ed)” that our guitarist/vocalist feels really encapsulates what we want the band to sound like, only it’s missing lyrics and a melody for the bridge section (the bassist/vocalist seems to think it’s fine as it is, but maybe you could give it a shot?). Now if we're being perfectly honest, there’s no rush in getting back to us right away -- our guitarist just recently moved back to the Philly/South Jersey area and is spending some time getting settled, looking for a full-time day job, and hopefully finding some new digs; and our bassist can get fairly busy at times as well. But once we've formed a decent trio, we'd like to be as committed as possible while still being able to perform well in our day jobs, meaning no less than two or three rehearsals a week after work with the ultimate goal being to play multiple shows a month once venues get back up and running. Who knows -- maybe we'll come up with enough songs and become a tight enough band to consider cutting an EP or full-length album! For now, why not shoot us an email with samples of your drumming and let us know if you’d like to hear what we got! We’ll gladly send those demos over to you if you're interested! We're very excited to be getting together and jamming sometime soon, and we hope you are too! PS. We figured it would go without saying, but since we got a response from someone that touched on this: you must have *your own* drum equipment (complete drum kit w/ stool, drum sticks, accessories, etc.) -- bonus points if you also have or know of a rehearsal space that the three of us can use.
