Organization Overview: JJS is a family owned and operated transportation and distribution company with operations in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. JJS transports various goods for clients throughout the Tri-State area. Position Responsibilities: • General cleaning of building(s) and maintenance including, but not limited to: o Maintain and replenish stock of cleaning supplies. o Handle basic maintenance, building repairs, and notify management when necessary of repairs needed. o Ensure buildings are locked and secured after hours. o Complete tasks timely with minimal supervision needed. o Clean warehouse by vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, disinfecting, and cleaning surfaces as assigned. o Use approved cleaning chemicals only with proper PPE as required. o Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using proper cleaners, sponges, and squeegees. o Dust furniture and scrub surfaces clean. o Clean and service restrooms, to include sinks, toilets, and urinals with mops and proper disinfectants. o Move heavy furniture to vacuum/sweep underneath as needed o Clean sinks, countertops, microwave, coffee makers, and refrigerators in break rooms o Empties cardboard and plastic recycling and compacts o Identify and report needed repairs on equipment to ensure they are well-maintained. o Cross-train on other duties or areas as assigned by Supervisor o Executing heavy cleaning tasks and special projects o Ability to work in team environment o Adhere to all general safety rules Experience and qualifications: • Ability to manage time efficiently and work independently. • Experience with housekeeping and maintenance in a warehouse facility. • Ability to work safely and effectively in warehouse environment. Location: Valley Stream, NY Employment Type: Full-Time Shifts: Morning & Evening Shifts Available Compensation commensurate with experience.
