Easter time - many bunny rabbit postings...
Please be sure to do your homework should you chose to have a pet bunny!
A bit of information:
Rabbits CHEW! It is in their nature to chew! They NEED to chew for healthy teeth! They need fresh hay, fresh water, fresh greens, and a very small amount of treats such as pellets, apple, carrot.
HAY: Rabbits should have a daily diet of mostly hay, a smaller amount of fresh vegetables, and a limited number of pellets. Unlimited, high-quality grass hay, such as Timothy, orchard or brome, should make up the bulk of a rabbit's diet. Grass hay is high in fiber, which is critical to maintaining a rabbit's healthy digestive tract, is the most important part of a rabbit's daily intake.
ALFALFA HAY: Alfalfa hay is fine for young bunnies but is not the correct choice for adult rabbits, especially if it is being used along with pellets (which are already high in alfalfa hay).
They also need proper toys to chew: my Bunbun loves empty toilet paper rolls stuffed with hay, (please DON'T let Bunbun chew/eat painted/stained baseboards, electric cords, furniture, etc.)
They can spray urine when excited. Getting he/she fixed may stop the spraying, it did with my Bunbun.
They need daily attention/loving!
They need exercise a few hours a day, to hop, run & binky 🙂!
Also, the lifespan of rabbit is 8 to 12 years!
Please don't keep Bunbun in a cage 24 hours a day!
Thanks for reading and caring!
