Description
Currently seeking motivated, self driven, hardworking individuals for a full time Welding position with a Barge company located in Memphis, TN. Position comes with full benefits such as; medical, dental, vision, life insurance and 401k program. Welders perform welding and repairs on barges, boats, equipment, docks, etc.
Duties and responsibilities
Cuts and prepares parts using band saw and plasma torch.
Must meet company quality, attendance, and productivity requirements.
Must perform duties in compliance with all safety rules and regulations required by the Company, State, Federal and Local provisions.
Prepares parts and fixtures for scheduled job.
Operates hand grinders as needed.
Visually inspects work and parts fit up on an on-going basis.
Installs or repairs equipment, such as lead pipes, valves, floors, and tank linings.
Removes rough spots from workpiece, using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper.
Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
Must be able to Stick weld.
