Know and comply with the company’s safety rules, policies and OSHA regulations including injury/incident/near miss reporting procedures. Bring problems to attention of Foreman, Supervisor, Superintendent, Safety Director, or Human Resource Manager. 2. Model safe work practices including wearing personal protective equipment, safety belts and safe operating procedures. Firmly enforce all safety policies and take corrective action as needed. 3. Work with Safety Director to ensure jobs have safe working conditions and that safe work practices are in place. 4. Conduct weekly “Tool Box Talks” on assigned subjects and more often if a need arises. 5. Lead crew discussion at beginning of every project that covers the project’s safety needs, responsibility requirements, and complete or designate a foreman to complete job site punch list/checklist. 6. Supervise all plant operations including plant employee’s responsibilities. 7. Ensure that the asphalt plant is operating safely and efficiently and that it is operating within environmental regulations as well as Aggregate Industries’ rules and regulations. 8. Ensure sure plant is well maintained and make repairs, or service as necessary. 9. Supervise Loader Operator, monitor inventory and ensure correct mixes are sent to various job sites. 10. Oversee inventory and that correct amounts of materials are ordered to meet specific job requirements and that stock piles are placed properly. 11. Coordinate trucks hauling virgin materials to the asphalt plant and ensure that adequate amounts for each mix are available for upcoming jobs. 12. Oversee operations of paving crew. Ensure paves are done to engineer’s specifications. 13. Coordinate plant to paver operations and ensure proper mix designs are used as well as the appropriate number of trucks are dispatched. 14. Coordinate with other divisions to ensure dirt work and curb work is completed to specifications before beginning asphalt work. 15. Suggest and initiate personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, hires, terminations and training requirements. Adhere to company EEO policy/Affirmative Action Plan when making any employment decision. 16. Relate to the public and to customers, engineers, architects and other visitors in a professional, courteous and respectful manner, appropriately responding to their complaints, requests or comments. 17. Inspect work in progress to ensure that there is quality workmanship that conforms to contract documents and adheres to construction schedules. 18. Oversee recycle operations and that recycled asphalt is maintained and stored properly. 19. Manage inventory of tack oil and seal coat oil and ensure proper maintenance. Place order for more oil if inventory is low. 20. Work with Midwest testing and complete Quality Assurance testing of Aggregate gradation and oil content in mix. 21. Maintain lab to DOT standards. Keep Calibrations current. Oversee and conduct testing. 22. Design asphalt mixes to job specifications and update all mixes as needed. 23. Ensure accurate customer billing by recording tons delivered and/or measuring square yards placed. 24. All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
