Lynden Dutch Bakery is hiring. We are ramping up to reopen our Historic Downtown Lynden location after a remodel and we are seeking experienced bakers and a donut fryer. With over 114 years of baking history, we are looking to add to our dynamic team. Immediate openings available! The bakery team member is responsible for following recipes and production guidelines to prepare pies, scones, muffins, cookies, pie dough and other hand-crafted pastries. This position will also include light cake decorating, finishing and topping baked items and requires an eye for detail. The bakery team member must follow food safety, food handling, and sanitation guidelines and procedures. This position requires someone with open availability to work bakers hours. Saturdays are required **Essential Functions:** Bakes and prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, etc. food items Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, mixers, etc. Safely utilizes a variety of utensils including knifes Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils Maintains positive attitude towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc. Adheres to safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation Ensures security of company assets Other duties and tasks as assigned by manager **Qualifications:** Requires lifting of up to 50 lbs. Previous experience as a baker or in a related role preferred, but willing to train the right candidate Proven knowledge of baking methods and standards and food safety regulations such as proper food handling, sanitation, and storage Must be able to obtain a food handlers card Demonstrates basic math and counting skills Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal Valid driver license with a clean driving record Please send resume and cover letter Serious Inquiries Only
