Fly Guys Construction is a rapidly growing and dynamic construction company. We are looking for an experienced and skilled Lead Painter. You will be responsible for overseeing project crews in painting of interior and exterior surfaces of buildings/structures. Your job will be important since good painting has both practical and aesthetic benefits. An excellent painter is knowledgeable in selecting the right material for their job. They have experience in painting with various tools and in various heights and spaces while observing all safety measures. They must be reliable and deft as well as possess great attention to detail in completing their duties. The goal is to deliver high-quality painting work. We are looking for someone in Bellingham, Anacortes, Mount Vernon, or Burlington. Job Responsibilities: -Crew supervision -Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures etc. -Prepare surface for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint etc. -Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material -Purchasing paint and supplies -Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture -Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools -Apply varnish and other finishes -Calculate costs -Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions Work Hours & Benefits: This position is paid hourly and job sites include Whatcom, Skagit, and San Juan Islands as well as other locations. You must be comfortable with travel by small airplane and ferry. Qualifications / Skills: -Proven experience as a painter -Excellent knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix and apply them -Solid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques -Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.) -Good basic math skills -Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders etc. -Conscientious with great attention to detail -Ability to Climb Ladders -Ability to Carry Heavy Equipment (Including Painting Tools and Heavy Buckets of Paint) -Ability to Stand for Long Periods of Time -Good Math Skills for Calculating Surfaces and Equipment Requirements -Outstanding Physical Dexterity -Strong Ability to Follow Directions -Exceptional Sense of Creativity -Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements: -5+ years' experience professional painting -Bondable -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills -Organized with the ability to prioritize and multi-task -Reliable with patience and professionalism -Valid driver’s license -You must be able to pass a criminal background check, drug test, and provide a driving record.
