The Agricultural Equipment Operator (farm technician) is responsible to grow and care for multiple vegetable crops. This person supports all field operations at the Gilroy research station including ground preparation, sowing, tractor operation, irrigation, chemical application. Vilmorin North America offers great benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401k, holiday pay, paid time off). PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: Sow, thinning, cultivation, weeding. Seed harvest of field and cage materials. Tractor work to include: discing, chiseling, bed lifting, bed shaping, and lillistoning. Irrigation work, including moving pipes, laying and maintaining drip lines & valves. Fertilizer and pesticide applications. Equipment inspection and preventive maintenance. Support greenhouse activities. QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in field activities. Tractor operations experience (preferred). Spraying experience (preferred). Ability to wear & use pesticide respirator. Ability to work in field & greenhouse environments. Good driving record.
