Description
Dreaded "Kitten Season" is upon us and with every influx of tiny babies, we get some that require extra special care.
I have multiple years of experience with both bottle feeding and tube feeding and I like to use my spare time in helping the very most helpless; these often include preemies, runts, cleft lip/palates and/or other birth defects.
I know that there is a limited amount of resources available for these extra special cases, so I prefer to dedicate my time and energy to these tiny helpless creatures.
If you have healthy kittens with a mom, leave them with the mom until they are 8 weeks old, then reach out to a rescue/shelter for help spaying/neutering and rehoming.
If you find healthy kittens, leave them where they are and allow mom to return. Unless they are malnourished, injured or you know mom has 100% abandoned them or died, DO NOT TAKE THEM.
Any and all babies have a higher chance of survival by staying with mom, by taking healthy babies away from mom you lower their immune system and chance of survival by nearly 50%!!! If at all possible, leave babies with their mom.
That being said, and fully stressed, please contact me if you have a baby that is failing to thrive or has a condition that requires extra special care.
