Description

STOP ASIAN HATE DALLAS RALLY 3/27, Saturday 11AM 2999 N. Carroll Ave. Dallas, TX 75204. 20 acre open field along 75 (cityplace/uptown) . Asian-Americans and Allies Together! Co-Hosts and Allies: Korean Cultural Center Dallas, Sunrise Movement Dallas, State Rep Gene Wu, former City Council Member and current candidate Monica Alonzo, FEDDS Many Asian-Americans don’t speak out publicly because it is not essentially part of our culture. We also struggle to understand who our true allies are in America today. Anti-Asian Racism is rooted in the idea that Asians are not a vital part of the American culture. It is subtle, met with denial, and often comes in the form of omission. Omission from the discussion. Omission from the narrative. Don’t omit us. Your Asian-American friends won’t call you out, but you might be part of the problem. Your silence speaks volumes. Identify your biases, examine your language, consciously consider us. See us. As Asian Americans, we are survivors. We have survived, at times, horrific racism in the same country we know and love. But, we often participate in our own racial gaslighting by not speaking out - that needs to stop. The lived Asian-American experience is authentic and valid. Our "othering" is real in mainstream America and ourselves. America is our home, and we are not foreigners. Change in the world starts with change in the community. Nothing changes until we all speak up and speak out against Asian discrimination. We invite all city officials including mayor Eric Johnson, city manager T.C. Broadnax, all council members. Wear Mask, Bring Signs, Hear Guest Speakers #StopAsianHate --- compiled by several of us It is an open field next Cityplace. If you are coming from downtown direction, you Exit on Lemmon, and stay on the service road to cross Haskell then turn onto Carroll. If you are coming from North, say Henderson, Mockingbird, exit on Lemmon/Haskell then make a Uturn to be on north bound 75 service road. We can accommodate 500 cars and over 1000 people.
