Seeking Adept Improvisors for an Atypical “Jam” Project

What’s more fun than showing up at a comfortable space that has all the necessary equipment already there, sitting down(or standing up!) and creating some musical magic on the fly? If you answered “playing the same boring thing over and over,” this project is not for you. If you answered “nothing” or similar, this may be a good opportunity for you! We are a drummer and a synth player who have the ability to really lock in and improvise some cool, interesting sounding stuff. We like to change to new things(rhythms, tempos, keys) very frequently. We also like to play fast. Think you can keep up? We’d love to hear from you. We’re looking for bass guitar, or someone to play bass parts on synth. We have a bass amp and various analog and digital synths here, so if you have the keyboard skills and no synth, totally cool. Also, guitarists. We have 3 different tube amps at the space. Some of the genres we enjoy and are influenced by are punk, surf rock, new wave, free jazz, metal, electronic(breakcore, jungle, dnb, etc.). We’re looking for someone who likes this type of stuff and is able to improvise. You don’t have to be some insanely “good” musician, but you absolutely have to have good timing, and you have to be able to listen to the drums, and change when the drums change. For example, say you’re a guitarist and you can just play power chords, but you can change quickly, stay in time, find the new key, and flow with the music, that would work. We aren’t interested in playing covers, or conventional “jam band” type music. We’re looking for people we can vibe with as friends and as music improvisers. We’re mid 30s people and we have a basement jam space/studio in North Arlington. We are into self-improvement, healthy living, meditation, spirituality, the occult and that type of stuff.
