47th Annual Music City Tennis Invitational This charitable event, founded by the Nashville music community, is the longest-running music-related tennis tournament in the country. The tournament provides an opportunity for doubles team tennis for players of all levels. Teams are assigned by level of play. Players may sign up with a friend, or be assigned a partner prior to match play. (Players under age 18 need Tournament Director approval.) All proceeds of this tournament will benefit Tennessee Breast Cancer Coalition . The monies from the tournament will be used locally in the middle Tennessee area. Currently we are accepting teams that consist of 8 players within the 3.0 and 5.0 levels. The tournament will also feature a round robin modified scoring team tennis format. Winners in each division will be the overall team with the most total games won. In case of a tie, a play-off game will be played. Everyone in the TWO day team event is guaranteed two days of exciting tennis! We will accommodate all levels of play and appreciate your competitive spirit as well as your cooperation in adhering to the following rules: 1.Players may play in only one division; 2. The committee reserves the right to place pairs on teams at the level most appropriate to their ability; 3. The committee reserves the right to question the eligibility of any player. If the committee determines there is a rule infraction, the pair will be subject to disqualification. A portion of the entry fee is tax deductible and includes: A player gift, the Friday HEAD DEMO DAY, two days of tournament play. This year’s tennis PRO-AM will play on Friday, from 2:00-5:00pm. Each “amateur” will be partnered up with a local tennis professional and play in a round robin format with modified scoring.
