SD Secretary of Health Kim Malson-Rysdon Break*Down educational luncheon by PCRW seeks to: break down political issues, give you the raw facts, cover hot topics, provide excellent speakers and give monthly congressional updates. All are welcome! SD Secretary of Health Kim Malsam-Rysdon has been the Secretary of the Department of Health since 2015. She previously served as senior advisor to Governor Daugaard, Secretary of the Department of Social Services and other leadership positions in her 25 year career in state government. Kim attended college at the University of South Dakota, where she graduated from the University Honors program and received her bachelor's degree in political science. Kim went on to receive a master's degree in social work, with a concentration in health care policy, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Kim and her husband Steve will celebrate their 31st wedding anniversary this year, and they are blessed to have two sons. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, gardening, traveling and enjoying the Missouri River with her family.
