Please join us for one or two brisk morning downtown walks to visit new-build hotels & the new venues before the work day begins. In the spirit of Priya Parker, let's gather together and casually walk, talk, share, and learn more about our meeting and conference resources, friends and assets here in Asheville. I believe many Asheville-based event planners have not walked through the doors of many of these new venues and hotels because of COVID. We are going to start planning "comeback" events soon and things have changed. Are we ready? Also, I don't know about you but I feel like I need to get my conference legs and lungs re-activated too. Walk #1: Tuesday, April 20, 2021 (Bad Weather Plan is to move to the Following Day) 1. Brisk 45-minute Walk Around Pack Square Park (8:00am) 2. Hotel Arras with Marie Dalis Brown(8:45am) 3. The Foundry with Nicole Phillips (9:10am) 4. Asheville Art Museum with Beth Edwards (9:30am) 5. Optional: Coffee & Vortex Donuts (TBD) Walk #2: Tuesday, April 27, 2021 (Bad Weather Plan is to move to the Following Day) 1. Brisk 45-minute Walk Around Pack Square Park (8:00am) 2. AC Hotel with Marie Dalis Brown(8:45am) 3. Cambria Hotel with Kristen Childers (9:10am) 4. S&W Food Hall with Beth Edwards(9:30am) 5. Optional: Coffee & Vortex Donuts (TBD) FAQs Raffle Prize: "The Art of Gathering, How We Meet and Why it Matters" by Priya Parker book will given away at each walk. Partner: Explore Asheville and Kathryn Dewey Parking: Pack Square Parking Meters (I’ll bring a roll of quarters) Starting Point: Explore Asheville Visitor Center in Pack Square Dress: Ath-Leisure: i.e. Walking/Running shoes, Caps/Visors, and Shorts/Yoga Pants. Masks are required. Guests: Yes, please bring a colleague but RSVP for both Hotels/Venues: 15-25 minutes touring per hotel . 30-35 minutes at Venues. Main focus is on event and catering spaces. Collateral: Business cards only (Please bring 8-10 cards) - I promise you will not get sales kits to carry around. Water: Please bring a water bottle and we can re-fill it along the way Food: Some hotel might provide coffee and snacks during tours. (TBD) Can I arrive late or leave early?
