POINT PLEASANT BORO – The Beaver Dam Bridge was temporarily closed on Monday, police said. The Beaver Dam Bridge between Point Pleasant Boro and Brick was closed around 11:15 a.m. due to a bridge malfunction, police said. There was no estimated time for the repair. Police say people should avoid the area. As of late Monday, there was no estimated time for the bridge's reopening. The Beaver Dam Bridge has had some maintenance issues over the past year, and the span has had to shut for repairs on occasion. On one day last year, the bridge was opened every 10 minutes during certain hours so the maintenance can take place, officials said. This is a developing story.
