ASBURY PARK – Gov. Phil Murphy saluted the work of Asbury Park Dinner Table on Monday. Murphy noted that Julie Andreola, Giuseppe "Joe" Grillo, Allison Kolarika and Cathy Kelly founded Asbury Park Dinner Table to combat rising food insecurity and help local restaurants stay active. Through the New Jersey EDA, he said, the group has received more than $100,000 to do even more good. The group says it's on a mission to help local restaurants and hungry families during these insecure times. By partnering with local churches and supporting local restaurants, the group has not only mitigated the local economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic to restaurants, it is feeding dinner to local families who are experiencing food insecurity. The group has been distributing all donations to participating restaurants in Asbury Park, and delivering dinnerpackages to the most vulnerable populations.
