JOLIET, IL — For the second time in the past three years, a 46-year-old Joliet man who lives in the 1200 block of John Street faces domestic violence charges. Joliet police officers arrested Bryan Niedermeyer and delivered him to the Will County Jail during the early morning hours of March 15. Now, the Will County State's Attorney's Office of Jim Glasgow has filed three felony domestic battery charges against Niedermeyer. According to the criminal complaint, Niedermeyer grabbed a minor by her hair, and he grabbed her by her wrist. He is also accused of grabbing another woman in the house by her hair. The criminal complaint states that the victims are family or members of Niedermeyer's household. In 2018, here in Will County, Niedermeyer was convicted of domestic battery, the criminal complaint states. "The defendant is hereby placed on notice that it is the intent of the People of the State of Illinois to seek an enhanced Class 4 sentence based upon the defendant's prior conviction for domestic battery in Will County," prosecutors informed the judge. Niedermeyer is no longer in Will County's custody after posting 10 percent of his $7,500 bail, jail logs show.
